POINTS AND SURCHARGES IN NEW JERSEY

Surcharges

If you have collected excessive points on your driving license, you will have to pay surcharges along with the court-imposed fines and penalties. Surcharges are the additional fines assessed by New Jersey Surcharge Violation System (NJSVS). These surcharges are collected on an annual basis from the drivers who have committed offences like DUI or DWI.

You’ll be compelled to pay an additional charge on the off chance that you get 6 points or more within a time span of 3 years.

If you ignore the notification asking for installment and don’t pay your Surcharges, your driving license will be suspended. In the event that you get a Suspension Order, don’t keep on driving. Operating a vehicle while suspended is a genuine motor vehicle suspense causing extra fines and additional charges.
